The New York City real estate market came alive in the first quarter of 2024. Transaction volume ticked up substant-ially across all categories, with the second week in March seeing the number of contracts executed for $4 million or more in Manhattan rising to forty, a number not seen in well over a year.

Stocks Rebound After Jobs Report

Stocks rebounded Friday following the Dow Jone

s' worst session in more than a year as traders cheered a stronger-than-expected jobs report and looked past a jump in rates. Investors are torn between wanting a strong economy to support further corporate earnings growth and wanting a weaker jobs market that will give the Federal Reserve the green light to begin cutting interest rates.

NYC Delivery Workers Now Make $19/hr

New York City’s food delivery workers will now receive a minimum of $19.56 an hour, as part of a 2021 law that establishes better base wages for the more than 65,000 drivers and cyclists delivering food to New Yorkers’ doorsteps. Before this wage increase, delivery workers for apps earned an average of $5.39 an hour before tips.
