New York City’s Real Estate Market Begins The Fall On A High Note

Following last month’s decline in mortgage rates, New York’s real estate market has seen its best start to the fall season since 2021.

In Sept, 1,676 homes entered contract, up 26.4% from a year ago. Each week of the month saw more new contracts than the last, with 349 deals made during the first week and 441 during the last week. (Read More)

Dow Retreats From Record; Netflix Jumps To All-Time High

Stocks were mixed last week, with the Nasdaq advancing alongside Netflix shares and the Dow lagging after closing at a record high on Thurns.

The Nasdaq rose 0.6%, while the S&P 500 advanced 0.3% and the Dow slipped about 0.3%. Shares of Netflix jumped to an all time high after the streaming giant's quarterly results topped estimates.
