Stocks started and ended the week with rallies, helping to offset sell-offs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday that hit technology stocks especially hard. Economists Forecast Steady Inflation '26

Core CPI held steady at 2.6% year-over-year through December 2025, below expectations, signaling resilient disinfla-tion especially in housing amid a broader CPI at 2.7%. WSJ economist surveys pro-ject 2026 core inflation at 2.4-2.6%, temp-ered by tariff risks from new policies but supported by moderating shelter costs and economic resilience.

NYC City Council Approves Bill Ending Co-op Application Purgatory

New York City is putting co-op boards on the clock.

Last Thursday, City Council approved a bill aimed at cutting down on co-op board application response times. Members voted 46 to 2 in a veto-proof majority, which means the bill will bec-ome law. The proposed law puts co-op boards on 45-day deadline. (Read More)
