Queens Offers NYC Homebuyers the Best Bang for Their Buck

New Yorkers looking to buy a home may be able to find the best bang for their buck in Queens, a new study has revealed. The borough offers the most space for the money compared to Brooklyn and Manhattan, with an average selling price of $540 per square foot, according to an analysis by StreetEasy. (Full Story)

NYC Landlords’ $2 Million Property to be Converted Into Affordable Housing

A prominent Brooklyn couple accused of illegally trying to boot tenants during the COVID-19 pandemic has agreed to turn over their $2 million property to the city so that it can be converted into affordable housing, according to a settlement Wednesday. The city filed suit against the landlords — so-called “eco-builder” (Full Story)

MTA will Pilot Protective Platform Doors at 3 Subway Stations

Protective screen doors are coming to platforms at three subway stations as part of a new pilot program to keep straphangers off the tracks. After several high-profile incidents in recent years where riders were shoved onto the tracks, including the January death of Michelle Go in Times Square, the agency said it would revisit the issue.
