Dollar Gains, Stocks Fall As US Data Suggests Rates To Stay Higher

The dollar rallied and a gauge of global equities slid on Thursday after data once again highlighted persistent U.S. labor market strength, suggesting the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates higher for longer to curb inflation. Fewer-than-expected Americans filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week.

Markets Are Cheering Falling Inflation. But Be Careful What You Wish For...

‌Inflation has plummeted from a blistering 9% last summer to 3% in June, and the stock market has rallied (overall) on hopes of a return to normalcy. But with prices still well above the Fed's target, policymakers have signaled more rate hikes are on the table.
