Fed holds Off On Rate Hike, But Says Two May Come Later This Year

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday decided against what would have been an 11th consecutive interest rate increase as it measures what the impacts have been from the previous 10. But the decision by the Federal Open Market Committee to hold off on a hike at this two-day meeting came with a projection that another two quarter percentage point moves are on the way before the end of the year.

Mortgage Demand Surges As Interest Rates Ease Off Recent Highs

Mortgage rates pulled back for the second straight week last week, and it was enough to get both current and potential homeowners on the phone with their lenders. Mortgage application volume rose 7.2% last week, compared with the previous week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s seasonally adjusted index. (See Here

The S&P 500 Has Erased All Of The losses Since The Fed Started Raising Rates Over A Year Ago

After 15 months of pain from the Federal Reserve's rate hikes, which sent stocks into a brutal bear market, the S&P 500 is hovering just above where it was when the central bank started tightening monetary policy in March, 2022. the S&P 500 dipped after the Fed made the decision not to raise interest rates while keeping a hawkish stance. Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is a big holiday in our family as my son Noble has two dads. It is an honor to watch him become a young man and take part in his next journey...a rising senior in Fall and college in Fall of 2024.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without my dad. His actions are the foundation on which I build upon. I'm grateful to have him in my life and consider him a trusted confidant. In addition to it being Father's day, it is also the month of Pride which is extra special in this household. We are also celebrating Juneteenth this Monday to honor and commemorate the struggle and courage of Black Americans in this country. Lot's to celebrate and honor this month!
