Many economists and investors had a clear narrative coming into 2023: The Federal Reserve had spent months pushing borrowing costs rapidly higher in a bid to tame inflation, and those moves were expected to slow growth and the labor market so much that the economy would be at risk of plunging into a downturn. The luxury market in New York City had a big week, with 29 contracts signed for homes priced $4M+*. It was the first time in six weeks more than 20 contracts were signed, and the highest number since 30 $4M+ contracts were signed the week of October 17. Manhattan’s Very First Public Beach Will Open This Year

The landscape architecture firm behind Domino Park and the High Line—James Corner Field Operations—had already been approved by the Hudson River Park Trust to design a public park with beach access on the Gansevoort Peninsula, and now next steps are finally taking place. (Full Story)
