Big Market Tests Loom

The stock market rally had a mixed week. The Dow Jones and S&P 500 were little changed while the Nasdaq and small-cap Russell 200 retreated below their 21-day lines. A trio of big events are on tap for the coming week. Fed policymakers give their latest projections for rate cuts on Wednesday afternoon. Nvidia and Microsoft hold meet do discuss the future of AI sure to have an impact.

Wholesale Inflation Rose 0.6% In February, Much More Than Expected

Wholesale prices accelerated at a faster-than-expected pace in February, another reminder that inflation remains a troublesome issue for the U.S. economy.

The producer price index, which measures pipeline costs for raw, intermediate, and finished goods, jumped 0.6% on the month, the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.
