Adams Wants to Rezone 42 Midtown Blocks, Boost Housing Citywide

The city will rezone more than 40 blocks in the Garment District, NoMad and Chelsea and launch an effort to rewrite the city’s zoning code in the coming months in hopes of chipping away at New York City’s desperate housing shortage, Mayor Eric Adams announced Thursday.

S&P, NASDAQ Close Higher as Wall Street Shakes Off Rate Hike Fears

Shares rose this week after Wall Street rallied to its best day since June after pressures from the bond market relaxed a bit.

The S&P and NASDAQ indexes snap a three-week losing streak. Optimism was fueled by Jerome Powell’s confidence in continued economic growth in the U.S. "The housing sector is also showing signs of picking back up." (Full Story)
