Uncertainty Wreaking Havoc

Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs set off one of the most volatile periods of stock trading in U.S. history – and uncertainty still looms over Wall Street and the world. As a direct result of this instability, invest- ment in America is slowing. The US Dollar slipped to a 3 year low, international travel to the US is down resulting in $90 Billion in lost revenue, and US stocks, businesses, and purchasing power are suffering the consequences.

The Fed Speaks

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said Wednesday that he expects President Donald Trump's tariffs policy to cause higher inflation and slower economic growth, complicating potential central bank efforts to ease the fallout. This sent stocks tumbling (Dow fell 690 points and the S&P 500 fell 2.2%) and Trump called for Powell's resignation. (Full Story)
