Mortgage Rates Cross 7%: How It Affects New York Real Estate

Home mortgage rates have hit 7 percent for the first time in 20 years as the Federal Reserve aggressively raises rates to tame inflation, making it more expensive for buyers in New York to acquire homes and less profitable for owners to sell them. The last time the 30-year fixed rate was this high was in April 2002. (Full Story)

S&P 500, And Nasdaq Slide, But Dow Ends Higher On Mixed Earnings Picture

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq posted losses on Thursday, as investors contended with solid economic data and a mixed bag of corporate earnings.

The price-weighted Dow advanced, held aloft by industrials (SPLRCI). At the same time, Weakness in market-moving tech and tech-adjacent mega caps depressed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq in the wake of negative quarterly results.
