Home Price Growth Sets 15-Year High
S&P said Tuesday that the national home price index posted a 12% annual gain in February, up from 11.2% in January. The rate is the highest year over year gain recorded by the index since February 2006. The 20-City Composite posted a 11.9% annual gain, up from 11.1% the previous month, beating consensus estimates of 11.9%. ( Full Story)

New York City Will Reopen 100% By JulyYesterday, mayor de Blasio announced "We are ready for stores to open, for businesses to open, offices, theaters, full strength starting July 1, 2021." Governor Cuomo said he would like to see the city reopen before the date pitched by de Blasio. “I don’t want to wait that long. I think if we do what we have to do we can reopen earlier." Slow Home Sales Due to Low Supply
In March, the number of homes sold dropped by 3.7% from the month before, the slowest pace of home sales since last August. The drop is likely driven by a lack of supply. Luckily, both existing and new homes should have inventory boosts on the way. An influx of new homes is expected on the market this year & with vaccines rolling out, owners are getting more comfortable selling. ( Full Story)
