Dow Drops 440 Points Amid Inflation and Tariff Worries as Amazon Slides

U.S. stocks slipped to start the week amid the imposition of tariffs and subsequent trade negotiations involving the United States, Canada, Mexico, and China. Even as significant progress has been made in reducing inflation to approximately 2.6 per cent, more time is needed for the US central bank to achieve its 2 per cent inflation target, John Williams, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the New York Federal Reserve Bank, said on Friday.
